Music Teachers Wanted – September 2026

Piano, Voice, Voice & Piano and Guitar Positions

Heritage Music School is seeking reliable, enthusiastic, and qualified music teachers to join our teaching team for the upcoming school year.  We currently have positions available at our Cloverdale and Fort Langley locations. These positions include established teaching schedules with returning students, as well as opportunities to grow the schedules through new enrolment.

Available Positions

Cloverdale Location

  • Piano teacher on Mondays
  • Piano teacher on Wednesdays
  • Voice teacher on Saturdays
  • Voice and piano teacher on Saturdays

Fort Langley Location

  • Guitar teacher on Mondays

Applicants may apply for one or more positions, depending on their qualifications and availability.

Compensation

The contract rate is $34 to $40 per teaching hour, depending on music qualifications, teaching experience and the position being filled.

Responsibilities

  • Provide engaging, structured private music lessons
  • Prepare age-appropriate lesson plans and learning materials
  • Support students in developing technique, musicianship, confidence, and enjoyment of music
  • Communicate professionally with students, parents, and school administration
  • Maintain accurate attendance and lesson records
  • Arrive on time and provide consistent weekly availability
  • Follow Heritage Music School’s policies and teaching expectations
  • Prepare interested students for performances, recitals, and examinations when appropriate

Qualifications

Ideal candidates will have:

  • Formal music education, recognized music certifications, or equivalent performance and teaching experience
  • Strong proficiency in the instrument or subject being taught
  • Previous private or group teaching experience
  • The ability to teach beginner and intermediate students of different ages
  • Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills
  • A dependable, professional, and encouraging teaching style
  • Availability to commit to a consistent weekly schedule throughout the school year
  • Reliable transportation to the teaching location
  • Experience with commonly used method books, including Faber Piano Adventures, Royal Conservatory of music materials, or comparable programs, is an asset.
  • Successful applicants will be required to provide a satisfactory criminal record check before beginning work.
